Farmer Beth as a young intern in North Carolina

Trout Creek Farm is hiring 2 interns for 2018!

Come be a part of an ever growing farm in Buena Vista, Colorado. 2018 will be year 6 for Trout Creek and we’ve gotten too big to manage ourselves!

Interning at Trout Creek

Interns at Trout Creek Farm will learn about and be involved in all aspects of the farm. This will include caring for starts and working in a greenhouse, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, cleaning, and selling at the market. This job is about learning while doing not just “go out and hoe”. Our hope is that you will leave the farm with a base of information and the skills to run your own farm.

To be a successful farmer and intern you must be able to work full, hard days in our intense Colorado sun. Many of our days revolve around repetitive, strenuous work which can be difficult for many people.

Farm work is full time from April – October. We love full season interns but summer interns are great too! We expect interns to stay for a minimum of the 3 summer months. Interns will generally work 40 hours a week:           8 am – 4 pm weekdays and 7 am – 5pm Sundays (Market days).  Interns must be flexible! Sometimes we have to work a little bit longer of a day and sometimes we work shorter days due to weather.

Pay: Compensation will be based on experience but starts at $200 per week plus access to food from the farm. Housing is tricky in Buena Vista but if you coming from out of the area, I am happy to help you look.
